A lack of "intellectual curiosity" is the term used by elitists who think that to be conservative is to be stupid.
They said it about President George W. Bush (as I recall, anyway), even though he graduated from Yale with a higher GPA than Al Gore had at whatever school he went to (I'm too lazy to look that up right now) - again, as I recall, anyway.
Most conservatives that I am familiar with have looked at both sides of the issues, and have given serious thought to what is right, and have found one side lacking; or one side superior.
This petty insult - for that IS what it is - of not having sufficient "intellectual curiosity" is a red flag. When you hear it said, you know that you have a person who has chosen a position that is popular with the "in crowd." I expect to find that kind of thing in Junior high, or even high school - but please! do we have to put up with it from our "leaders"? The ones who make our laws? Really?
I propose that any member of the Republican party who uses the phrase "lacks intellectual curiosity," or its equivalent, be automatically registered as a Democrat. Because they are the ones who are looking down their noses at the rest of us.
(You would not believe how much trouble I had typing "curiosity" correctly thoughout this post).
